More Info:
Donovan's A Gift from a Flower to a Garden is reissued as part of the Donovan Paper Sleeve Collection Vol. 4, celebrating the 60th anniversary of his debut in 2025 and his upcoming 80th birthday in 2026, and marks the first-ever paper sleeve release faithfully reproducing the US original LP with an A-style jacket, complete with a replica Japanese LP obi strip and inner sleeve, featuring a brand-new 2026 remaster pressed on high-quality Blu-spec CD2 and including new liner notes, lyrics, and Japanese and English translations; originally released in 1968, the album was conceived as two separate works but was issued as a double album at Donovan's insistence against the label's wishes, with Disc 1, A Gift from a Flower, presented as an electric album aimed at adults of his generation entering married life, and Disc 2, Wear Your Love Like Heaven, offered as an acoustic album dedicated to children and future generations, spiritually influenced by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi to whom Donovan was deeply devoted at the time, reaching No.19 on the US album chart, and while previous CD editions condensed the work into a single disc, this edition fully restores the original two-disc configuration in line with Donovan's original vision.
